Test and Reviews RC8 PRO TEAM

This is the review and building of a TEAM ASSOCIATED RC8 PRO TEAM with all pro's and con's found.

Verdict

The people at Associated have done a great job.
Building/finishing the car was a breeze.
Just take care of the things we mentioned.
Some are already taken care of by the factory some are simple to do your selves.
Now every car will perform different and we are anxious to know what this car will bring for those who have waited so long.
Does this buggy has a wide bandwidth when it comes to set up and handling?
We all have to see in the near future.

The part quality and fitting is excellent and we never had a problem for those we had to put on our selves.
The manual is excellent for the hardcore racer who is dedicated to take the care apart for rework for his first race.
Also the newbie is nicely served with this manual.

 What are the pro's?

*  Large radio box and clamped antenna tube.
*  13 mm threaded shocks with dust boots.
*  Extra 1.4 and 1.5 2 hole shock pistons.
*  Covered CVD pins front and rear and center.
*  Clutch assembly with easy to install springs.
*  Brake system with easy access and composite brake rotors.
*  Split center differential holder.
*  Oval dual stage air filter.
*  Zip tie for opening the fuel tank lid included
*  Heavy duty servo arms
*  No E-clips
*  Captured hinge pins
*  Only hexagon screws
*  Left/right thread turn buckles
*  90% pre cut body
*  Larger clutch bell gear as standard
*  Incorporated splash guard on the fuel tank
*  Fuel tank can be removed by clips

 What are the bad moves?

*  Air filter oil is not sufficient (under attention and taken care of by Associated)
*  Servo splines are not easily marked on the ones used for throttle
(already taken care of by Associated in current production kits)
*  Servo wires and other wires can not be routed easily for rework quickly

Although the car comes 90% factory build the finishing off was easy and we found no major problems we could not handle or were not already known.
With this car the entering of the 1:8 scale buggy world by Associated is a fact and we are sure other products like a RC8T (truggy) is in the making.
The assistance and use of Thunder Tiger knowledge and parts has made this car circling at a high level of technology.
You will not be disappointed if you laid your hand on one of these cars whether or not it is factory build, Ready to Run or a kit version.
