THE VERDICT!
I started to build this car without any
prejudice. All parts fit without any major tuning, except for the hole of the
fuel drain and the spring tension adjusters.
The manual is complete but performs a little less
at second thought then the Japanese
originals like Kyosho and Mugen. Some screws could be described better.
That the car comes with a header and pipe is
nice and makes this kit complete.
The pipe how ever is not legal for world wide
racing!
The materials used seems to be of good quality
but extended use must give a real figure about that. Hong Nor did not spared to
copy the good things from other cars even decomposable
center differential mounts are standard.
The fueltank is nicely designed together with the
fuel splash guard for the front break disks.
The break disks are thin and nice looking. Some will have objection to the
plastic molded chassis stiffeners but they made the car stiff in the way they
should.
The rims look very nice. But only for the front these Speed 9.5 type of rims can
be used. When using other brand rims you have to modify the steering links
otherwise they rub the plastic ball link on the steering linkage at the inside
of the rims.
Except for the air filter oil, all parts needed to run the car were in the kit
except radio, engine and paint.
Yes I know that putting grease in all differentials is not good for racing but
for new bies there is no need at first to run back to the hobby store again.
Pro's will have no problem to fill the differentials with the silicone oil
viscosity number they like the most!
Painting the body with the pre cut window masking and decals was the
easiest and quickest one I ever did and with a good looking result to be honest.
The car is a little heavy but that might have no real effect on the drive
performance.
Beside the parts that come standard on the car many HOP UP OPTION parts are
available.
They can do something good on the durability side of the car. But
some are just cosmetics ones.
The standard set up seem to look good but all is track and personal performance related.
When durability is OK and the price is OK this car can make it between all other major competition brands.
JWhat are the pro's? J
* Very complete car with muffler and header
* The receiver box is large enough to accommodate a large 2 channel receiver
* Dual receiver battery mounting possible
* The plastic and metal parts, like steel and aluminum look to be of very good
quality
* Decomposable center differential mount
* Window and internal body decals
* Adjustable engine mounts
LWhat are the bad moves? L
* Manual is sufficient but could be better
concerning screw type
* Only Hong Nor Speed 9.5 front rims fit without remodeling steering linkage
* Car weighs 3585 grams ready to race without fuel, that is a little on the
heavy side
