Step 17

picsstep17-001.jpg (38230 bytes) Take this plastic filling part from the plastic tree.
picsstep17-002.jpg (49272 bytes) Place the part in the front gear box as the picture shows.
picsstep17-003.jpg (61533 bytes) Fit the servo saver top plate and at the red marked spot fit 4 x 10 mm round head hexagon screws using a 2.5 mm hexagon tool.
picsstep17-004.jpg (45022 bytes) Fit the right hand side steering rod to the steering knuckle with a 3 x 12 mm countersunk hexagon screw using a 2 mm hexagon tool.
This is according to the manual and in this case we advise you to use some medium strength thread lock.
picsstep17-005.jpg (44369 bytes)  Fit the left hand side steering rod to the steering knuckle with a 3 x 12 mm countersunk hexagon screw using a 2 mm hexagon tool.
This is according to the manual and in this case we advise you to use some medium strength thread lock.
picsstep17-006.jpg (53321 bytes) Even with full down travel we think using 3 x 16 mm countersunk screw and a 3 mm lock nut at the opposite side this is an better option concerning maintenance and reliability. There is enough room and also the cut out in the front lower suspension arm is already there.
picsstep17-008.jpg (49832 bytes)  The front drive unit ready.
Longer 3 x 16 mm screws and a 3 mm lock nut could have been provided instead of the 3 x 12 mm screws to secure the steering rods to the steering knuckle.
