This is the building process of a Hong Nor X1-CR with all pro's and con's found.

Step 2

 

Front differential
 picsstep2-002.jpg (30420 bytes) Take the 4 mm shaft and place first two satellite gears as the picture shows with at each end a 4 x 10 mm shim washer.
Make two of them.
 picsstep2-003.jpg (42346 bytes) Place the first shaft with gears in the differential housing with the cut out in the center pointing upwards.
 picsstep2-004.jpg (42045 bytes) Now place the second shaft with the cut out pointing downwards.
 picsstep2-005.jpg (53409 bytes) The kit comes with a bag with four bottles of silicone oil.
3 bottles for the differentials and one for the shocks.
The 30WT shock oil is 340 Cps.

 picsstep2-006.jpg (36203 bytes) For the rear differential we use the manual suggested 1000 Cps bottle 
 picsstep2-008.jpg (46143 bytes) Fill the differential 2 mm under the edge of the differential housing.

 picsstep2-010.jpg (41290 bytes) Place the sun gear as shown.
 picsstep2-011.jpg (38407 bytes) Now turn the readily prepared crown gear with the pin in the slot of the sun gear and align the hole of the differential housing and the holes of the crown gear.
 picsstep2-012.jpg (38917 bytes) Fit 3 x 12 mm countersunk  screws using a 2 mm hexagon tool.
Tight them in X pattern and do not over tight!

Rear differential

 picsstep2-009.jpg (43380 bytes) The manual suggest to fill it 100% but that will give an overflow of oil when the differential is closed!

 picsstep2-011.jpg (38407 bytes) Now turn the readily prepared crown gear with the pin in the slot of the sun gear and align the hole of the differential housing and the holes of the crown gear.

The differentials are much smaller then the previous ones used in the SPEED 9.5
Nice the kit comes with differential silicone oil with appropriate value for each differential.
Both differentials run very smooth.
