Step 41
Open bag 7
All parts of bag 7.
There is a correction sheet for the clutch
when using a SG crank shaft engine.
Fit the black 7 mm cone on the crank shaft and
slide it as far as possible against the front engine bearing. Move the
crank shaft engine and see if there is still any play.
If that is the case pull the crankshaft and push the black cone further
towards the front engine bearing.
Slide the flywheel on the crank shaft.
Turn the flywheel nut by hand force on the
crank shaft.
Make sure the rounded part is placed outwards.
Secure the flywheel nut using a large pliers
and a 10 mm tube wrench.
Do not use thread lock on this flywheel nut.
Fit on each of the flywheel pins a 2.6 x 6 mm
steel washer.
The car comes with blue anodized aluminum
clutch shoes and 1.0 mm scissors springs.
Place the spring in the clutch shoe as the
picture shows.
Slide the clutch shoe and spring over one of
the flywheel pins.
The tip if the scissors spring will touch the round part of the flywheel
nut.
Use a blunt tool to push the tip of the
spring into the groove of the flywheel nut.
We used a tip of a 2.5 mm hexagon tool.
This is how the spring should be placed.
Fit the second shoe with the same procedure.
After fitting the second shoe place a 2.5 mm hexagon tool in-between the
second clutch shoe and the flywheel nut.
Now place the third clutch shoe.
The clutch shoes readily mounted.
Slide a 5 x 9 0.3 mm steel shim washer on the
crank shaft.
Slide a 5 x 10 x 4 mm clutch bell ball
bearing on the crank shaft.
Fit a 5 x 10 x 4 mm ball bearing into the
front of the 13 tooth clutch bell.
Fit the clutch bell on the crank shaft.
Fit a 5 x 9 x 0.3 mm steel shim washer.
If in your case the end of the crankshaft is
not protruding the clutch bell use this small 3 x 4.8 x 0.5 mm washer to
make the crank shaft longer so you can use a 5 x 9 x 0.3 mm steel shim
washer.
Secure the end of the crank shaft with 3 x 8
x 1 mm steel washer and a 3 x 10 mm hexagon screw using a 2.5 mm hexagon
tool.
Make sure the clutch bell can move 0.5 mm
over the length of the crank shaft.
If there is less play use thinner 5 x 9 mm shim washers.
In case there is more play use thicker 5 x 9 mm shim washers.
Nice the kit comes with aluminum
clutch shoes.
The current standard.
