Test and Reviews X2-CRB PRO

This is the building process of a Hong Nor X2-CRB PRO with all pro's and con's found.

On this page we show you soon all the tips and tricks we have done on the car after it was build according to the manual.
We not only show you how but also explain "WHY".

Tip 1

If metal parts like shock standoffs or balls are placed against the carbon shock tower, place a thin metal washer in-between it.
This metal washer prevents the metal parts to engrave into the carbon when they are turned while fastened.
They also spread the load more over the whole carbon.
A picture will follow.

Tip 2

The picture shows clearly the carbon shock tower is rubbing the plastic from the wing stand.

The wing stand touches the the rear carbon shock tower when it is mounted.

During use or a heavy back flip landing at the bottom of the wing this might snap the wing stand in two parts. We already had this happening.
To overcome this problem we used a high-speed tool to make some more room so the wing stand can move more freely under pressure from below.

Tip 3

To prevent the front and rear hinge pins holders from the front and the rear gear box we advise to drill a 2.5 mm hole and tapping 3 mm thread into the thicker rear hinge pin holders.
You can now secure the hinge pin with a 3 x 5 mm hexagon setscrew to prevent the hinge pin from rotating.
If the hinge pin rotates it elongates the front hinge pin holders which are thinner in thickness.

TIP 4

Replace the silicone part on the brake rod for an appropriate spring.
This will give a more linear brake feeling.
