Step 48

mp75-step48-001.jpg (46834 bytes) To dress the car to my liking I used paper decals I made myself on the computer that I will put to the inside of the body using XXXMAIN lexan picture glue. You can also use any other paper graphic you made your self or taken from a flashy magazine.
mp75-step48-002.jpg (44658 bytes) Cut out the paper decals.
mp75-step48-003.jpg (45122 bytes) Clean the inside of the body with soap water and dry it with a paper towel.
Glue the decals inside the body with the XXXMAIN lexan paper glue.
More about how to use this lexan picture glue click here.
This is the left side view of the car with the custom made decals.
mp75-step48-004.jpg (44409 bytes) This is the right side view of the car with the custom made internal decals.
mp75-step48-005.jpg (38001 bytes) This is the front view of the car with the custom made internal decals.
mp75-step48-006.jpg (34811 bytes) This is the inside view side of the car with the custom made intarnal decals.
Check before painting if the window mask decals are still good bonded to the inside of the body by pressing them firmly especially at the edges!
mp75-step48-007.jpg (46645 bytes) I opted to make the best of it using white paint as inside and final fuel proof cover color.
Take the paint spray bottle or an airbrush gun and apply the color you like in 5 thin layers making a cross pattern at 15 centimeters distance.
Let each layer dry until the paint is just picking when you touch it, then spray the next layer.
Apply a fuel proof cover coating if you are using water based paint and let it dry 24 hours.

mp75-step48-008.jpg (41006 bytes) The front view of the body.
mp75-step48-009.jpg (46866 bytes) The left side view of the body.
mp75-step48-010.jpg (27258 bytes) The inside view of the body.
mp75-step48-012.jpg (48336 bytes) Peel of the cover film.
mp75-step48-013.jpg (42607 bytes) Take a lexan scissor or high speed dremel tool and cut the body along the edges that are pressed in the body.
mp75-step48-014.jpg (40690 bytes) Also cut the holes for the fuel tank, engine and the antenna along the edges that are pressed in the body.
mp75-step48-017.jpg (52923 bytes) Here you see the hole for the antenna.
mp75-step48-015.jpg (31184 bytes) Drill the 8 mm hole for the rear body post 4 mm to the rear.
The point molded in the body is placed 4 mm to much forward.
mp75-step48-016.jpg (40401 bytes) Drill the hole for the front body post with a 8 mm drill.
I find the hole to much on a spot where it weakens the strength of the front part of the body.
If the body post was 15 mm placed more to the rear of the car there was more material for keeping the strength in the front part of the body.
mp75-step48-018.jpg (51163 bytes) Drill a 2.5 mm hole at the red marked spot.
mp75-step48-019.jpg (62475 bytes) Drill a 2.5 mm hole at the red marked spot.
mp75-step48-020.jpg (25974 bytes) Take the spoiler and drill on the molded marked spots at the rear of the spoiler two 7 mm holes.

It would be nice if the body post was 15 mm placed more to the rear of the car. There is more material for keeping the strength in the front part of the body.
