! AUCTION FOR UNICEF HAS ENDED!

highest bid 800 US $

by Patrik Dworschak from CZECH Republic

During the 1:8 scale off-road Worlds 2006 held in Indonesia one of the A-main finalist was Yannick Aigoin running a X-Ray XB8 TQ powered by a R&B C6 BB.
Yannick was already European Champion 2006 with this combination and wanted that World title desperately to make it an ALL IN ONE.

For all the results of the 2006 World Champs check http://www.jateam.org

The A-main final lasted 60 minutes and at the 45 minute mark Yannick was leading by one lap.
Then disaster struck.
Engine flamed once!
Restarted and then again engine flamed once more.
So gone were his title changes.

Now there are may theories, many rumors and stories followed after the race.
R&B can not make engine that will run 60 minutes?
We all know that is not correct and R&B will proof that to one of you.
After the race Yannick discovered the problem due to a faulty routing of the fuel lines that the fuel line had been caught in between the flywheel (once or twice) and so could cut of the fuel stream to the carburetor.
The fuel line from the tank should have gone above fuel line of the carburetor nipple.
Let say a costly beginner mistake, but that is life and there is always a WC 2008 ahead in the USA to take revenge.

But what is different to your engine bought in the shop and the one the real Euro Champion 2006 uses?

We at TEAM TWF8, Buggy-Sport.info and R&B Products are proud to show you the ALMOST World Champion C6 BB engine in detail.

More over you can ask any question about the engine soon to Yannick and we will place his answer.

AUCTION ran from 10 December until 25 December

Last but not least we will auction the engine to one of our TEAM TWF8 - Buggy-Sport.info readers!
He you say directly, TEAM TWF8 is non commercial.
Correct, Correct and we stay that way.
Normally we return received goods but we agreed with Rody Roem the president of R&B we go a different way this time.

TEAM TWF8 - Buggy-Sport.info will donate the money received for the highest bid from the auction from one of our readers to UNICEF.

Then the new owner will receive the engine and can let us know if this engine is what he expected.

The first bid must be higher as 100 $ US (DOLLAR) so be the first!

The questions to Yannick and his answers about the worlds motor:

Q1: I saw some caR&Bon on the top of your piston in TWF8.WS, how it happen ? fuel/oil quality ?
Hendra MP

A1: There are 2 reasons for that :
 - the hot temperature at Jakarta that make me set the engine quite rich
- because of the dusty track conditions, we changed the air filter foam every time and we put a lot of air filter oil, that went inside the engine ...

Q2: What pipe did you run on the C6.  I know it's an R&B pipe, but is it a low end, mid range, or high end pipe.
Reggie

A2:  I use the 2045 R&B pipe, that is for me the best one for off-road, providing good power in low RPM and making the engine very linear

Q3: Why do you use the turbo button head when Rody from R&B tells people not to use it?
From my experience it gives the engine better power but it also causes ghost flameouts similar to the ones you had at the worlds.
Kelly

A3:  The whole R&B team has tested during the last season the TURBO combustion chamber. We met never problem, the only engine cut we had was the mine during the Worlds ... and we are quite sure it did not come from the turbo plug.

Q4: Why are you using the white airflow restrictor?
Jimmy

A4:  I set the power of the engine by using different venturi. I used the 6mm one (white) at the Worlds because the track was destroyed and I had enough power with it ...

Q5: The C6BB does not have any silicone putty in the crank.
Is this not needed to optimize gas flow and better the fuel mileage
Steve

A5:  We've never tested that on the C6BB, I only use a standard engine that is for me really good

Q6: What clutch set up did you used in combination with the engine and why?
Ronald

A6:  I use the standard XRAY clutch, alu 1.71 shoes with 0.9 or 1.0 springs depending on the grip of the track.

Q7: If you had the opportunity of doing the final again did you choose the same motor and same options like airflow restrictor?
Never the less you made and continue doing a great job for R&B and for this great Hobby!!! Congratulations.
Jorge

A7: For sure yes, the car, engine and tires were all very good. The only thing I missed was luck but nobody can control it ! Thanks for the congrats ;)

Q8: Did the C6BB fuel consumption help you to be the leader until first 45 minutes?
Rafa
A8:  It has helped me during the whole season except at the Worlds because of the very long lap time. We did not take any risk and refueled at the same time as the other drivers during the main.

Q9 Why did you opt for this whole engine, header, muffler, carburetor restrictor?
Josef

A9:  We stayed with the R&B team 2 days after the world warm-up. We tested everything and we all prefer this combination at the World track. The only thing we were not sure was the venturi that mainly depends on the track conditions.

Q10: How did you break-in this engine?
Gaston

A10:  As we recommend for all the R&B engines, I make the pre running-in at R&B company with our break-in bench. Then, I drove some fuel tanks with a rich set-up before making the perfect set-up after around 1 liter of use).
